My First Christmas of 2010 and an Update.

Last year I started making cards early, in August but I've just beaten my own record, I know some people make cards all year round which is great idea, but I had to put away my Christmas card making stuff, but since I reorganized my craft room they are now more accessible. The first of many.

After weeks of staying the same weight, I lost 2lbs this week. Going to The Ritz on Friday night with some friends so at last I will get to wear that beautiful new dress I bought before Christmas and didn't get the chance to wear, it is slim, and fitted and knee length, I always wore long before to cover up my fat legs. Anyway I feel great and only 5lbs to go to Goal. I WILL DO IT, I WILL DO IT, keep saying it.

Tomorrow is a new day: Clean and Simple87

I received my new KOTM from Unity last week so used this stamp and sentiment. the sketch is from Clean and Simple.
My daughter is being made redundant from the job she has been doing since she left college 17 years ago, she found out yesterday her job is to end in September, I thought this saying is just about right, it is not knowing what the future holds but as I said to her she has to think of it as a new opportunity.

Life's Moments:Melissa Phillips

I have been following Melissa's blogs for ages, and she does the most georgous cards, and is so inspirational and I love her daily musings. She designs card kits for the Scrappy Gourmet, and when I saw this kit I just couldn't resist it.
I came yesterday it and only took 10 days by Air Mailmaybe it came before the volcano and the Royal Mail held onto it for a few days after all they don't want to appear to be too efficant and I just couldn't wait to play and also to try out my new craft space. the kit comes with everything except glue. I just love those flower centres and the keys.
Here are my Cards.

My New Craftroom with a little help from Ikea

And of course my hubby Brian. I am lucky enough to have my own craft room but up to now it was a bit of miss mash, Brian bought me 3 new desks from Ikea, can't believe how cheap they were, so had a reorganisation and now every thing is ship shape and Bristol fashion.
As my room is on the third floor at the top of the house, the walls slope, so I can't put anything on the wall. The other side of the room is full of bookcases also from Ikea.
I now have 3 times more desk space and lots more room to spread out my stuff, so now maybe I won't lose my scissors etc under a pile of paper.

Even my jars are from Ikea, well some are anyway and some are Yankee Candle  Jars, the wall above the jars is the only straight one where I can put up some shelves, so that's another trip to Ikea of course. I love it up here, away from the world.

Something Different

No cards to show today but
I had a little play and made a hairclip and brooch which I saw in the Simply Homemade mag. The little felt flowers are from Stampin Up, I'm Grace will love these.
I think they have stopped publishing this in the UK along with Card trends and the scrapbook one, as I haven't seen it the shops lately which is a shame although it was expensive and I did enjoy it and bought the card one every month.

Another Clean and Simple sketch. I used this ladybird stamp which I simply love.

I did a 15min power walk this morning whichis the start of my keep-fit body plan, the plan is to do a walk alternate day with exercises, how difficult is that. Bet I don't keep it up, I am so lazy when it comes to exercise

Friends

Well it seems my Mojo hasn't been thrown out with all the rubbish. (see previous post) I had made a card for a friend using this card, but my friend Letty stole it. so thought I would make another using the sketch from The Sweet Stop.
We had a lovely girly evening last night bit of a late one she didn't go until 12, but it was so nice to have a good old natter and a little make up make over for her.

I'm still here.

Just to let you know that I am still here, but I have been stalking your blogs, just not done any crafting lately, I have been having a major clear out, Old Books, Old clothes , and lots more, it not very often i'm in the mood for decluttering so better not stop, lots more to do.
The thing is that nearly everything that come's into the house has probably cost money, and then it gets thrown out, well actually the good stuff goes to charity, only the things that are total rubbish gets thrown and then i try to reclyle whenever possible.

Anyway hubby Brian is now on his way to Devon for a golfing break until sunday evening so peace and quiet, watching what i like on the tele, no footie, no golf and no darts or anything else that is sport related. I am looking after Grace today, and I have a friend coming over for dinner tonight so lots of lovely girlie chats. if I haven't lost my Mojo or thrown it out with the rubbish, hope to do some crafting this weekend.

Hugs Carol xx

Let's hang out ~ Card patterns #57

I made this card for the Card Patterns challenge blog.

The stamp is from Unity Stamp co KOTM June 09 and I am ashamed to say still uninked that is until now, I paper pieced some of the clothes on the line. Seems that I must be getter braver as I even distressed the image with Tin Holtz, spiced marmalade distress ink pad.although I had to practice lots on scrap paper first, trouble is I buy these wonderful products and then I'm not sure what to do with them.Posted by Picasa
