Mojo Monday

I had some new stash from Stampin Up come on Tues so had a little play with the sketch at Mojo Monday. You can make the round or square sketch so decided to make the round of course it's round you can see that for yourself. I used to hate doing round, but what a difference it makes when you have the right tools for the job.  I cut out the scalloped circle using the largest of the nestabilities in by big shot, wasn't sure if it would cut though both layers of card but it did.
Papers and felt flower: Sweet Pea.

I was supossed to have posted this last night but spent most of the evening on the phone to various people, so as I couldn't sleep due to stress levels decided to post it now,4am, have to leave at 6.30pm to get to Manchester, the funeral is at 10.30pm and who nows what it will be like when we get to the bottleneck that is Birmingham and there are always always lots of road works. Hopefully I can nod off in the car, Brian is driving of course. Thank you to Kath and Lynda for your kind words, Love You.

Card Patterns 83

A quick post, have lots to do today, more about that later. Although I'm busy had to make time to have a play. made this card using the sketch at Card Patterns. Papers by MME Colorful Christmas.

I need a new Black Coat one of those black coats that will be OK for any occasion. We have a funeral to go to tomorrow and I don't have a black coat that fits, yeah more weight lose, only 2 1/2 lbs to go now to get to my goal, my brother-in-law and his wife lost there baby one week before she was due to be born, can't imagine what they are going though, so its off to Manchester tomorrow, so an early start in the morning. Although we are 200miles or so away, we are a close family and as you get older family becomes more important, so we need to be there for each other at these sad times.

But its not all sad times, there have been 2 weddings this year, and we are all getting together again on Saturday as it is Brian's my hubby's 60th birthday, we are having a big party with about 80 guests, and lots of relations staying over.

Card Patterns 82

Same Challenge blog Card Patterns
different sketch #82 , same Stamp from LOTV Skating Along. different Card. Papers from Basic Grey Dasher
and stickles and not forgetting that fab Martha Stewart glitter.
I know its Christmas again! Well I do love Christmas and every one expects a Handmade card, and my box is filling up quite nicely now.
All though I do have quite a few birthdays coming up soon so really need to get my act together.

It is Brian's birthday coming up in less than 2 weeks now and it is the big 60 I have already made his card but can't show you it yet as he sometimes lurks around here, we are having a big party up at his Golf Club with a live singer Jon Kendall, and my friend Letty's band " Isabelle" singing a few songs for us too. And over 70 guests some people coming from all over the UK and most of them staying over, now that most of the organising is done I feel I can relax a little bit more at least until the big day, it is actually his birthday on the day of the party and he is taking himself off for a game of Golf, I have to decorate the room at the Golf club with balloon's banners and some dodgy photos. We also have several guests arriving and staying at our house, I expect to be a little bit stressed on the day. Well I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing and everything will be fine. Anyway I feel so much better already.Posted by Picasa

Simon says Stamp and Show. Holidays

The challenge at Simon says Stamp and Show this week is Holidaysand they have joined uo with Simon Simon says Challenge Blog  and I could have chosen Christmas I've made so many Christmas cards already but that would have too easy or Thanksgiving, but as we don't celebrate thanksgiving here in the UK, although I think we should, after all the Pilgrims were orginally from England. Anyway I chose Halloween . I made this using the Tim Holtz embossing folder and card stock from coredinations and the ticket stamp is also Tim Holtz. And the spider I cut using my Cricut machine.

More Xmas Cards and some good news.

Just a couple of simple cards for Xmas, I have had this K & Co paper in my Xmas paper folder for ages and after seeing it used in a magazine, Cardmaking and papercrafts. thought I would try to use some of it up. so much paper.
And the good news is: Kath and I are going to do a workshop with the wonderful Tim Holtz in February, managed to book tickets and after nearly messing up the order it is now confirmed, We are going. How exciting is that. I told Kath to stock up on some Tenalady. But the wait Ahh, worse than waiting for Xmas.
And also for me it is a double wammy as not only do I get to meet Tim I am also going to be spending some quality time with the lovely Kath Stewart.

Mojo Monday 155. LOTV James The Bear.

Had a little play around yesterday with these this fab stamp from LOTV  James The Bear.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, my mojo had gone out the window lately so thought this might kick start it again. Not sure that I got the colouring right maybe I need more practice. I used my promakers and Papers from Basic Grey. Ticket Stamp  by Tim Holtz, and while we are on the subject of Tim, my friend Kath (who has already let the cat out of the bag) and I are hoping to go and do a workshop with him, I was going to wait until I had the tickets booked before telling anyone, didn't want to chance my luck., might not get them if the whole of the UK wants one too. Might be spending the whole of Monday night swearing at the computer screen. So wish us luck.

You can find a link to the PDF file for this HERE

And I did put on that 1lb at WW yesterday but really I was glad that it was only 1lb. I am not really going to put in an extra effort to get to my goal for Xmas.  which I am informed is 14 weekks away how scary is that.
