I just can't stop making Pencil Wraps

I'm just loving making these Pencil Wraps and now I've also added some note book covers to match.
They hold a A6 size note book. I made these with fabrics by Kate Spade. I just love the colours.
and they fit so nicely in the pencil wraps. They would make a great gift idea, together or separate.
I was thinking I might have to sell some, I have already sold a few, but need to make lots more to set up a stall at a craft event.

Pencil wrap

Isn't it a beautiful morning. Hope it is where you are.
This is the third pencil wrap I have made and they all have homes. Grace had the first one the second one went to her friend for a birthday present and this one I think Grace wants for a teachers gift. Might get to keep one for myself, when I make some more that is.
There is room for a note book and lots of pencils. Grace took her's to school and now everyone wants one.
I found the pattern on Pinterest and here's the link http://veryberryhandmade.co.uk/2013/02/05/mini-art-wrap-tutorial/

Summer Dress

Never mind the Sewing Bee, looks like I've got the sewing bug. I now made the dress from The Sewing Bee book. You can download the patterns to print out. Really pleased with how it turned out. Just bought more fabric to make another one, might make the neckline a little lower next time though.

Happy Birthday

It was my Grandson Rhys's Birthday yesterday, Wow can't believe he is 21 already, it seems like such a short time ago that he was born. Having a Grandson of 21 makes me feel so old, I am old but not OLD. I will be 60 this year, and I was only 38 when I became a Gramdma. Being a Grandparent is the best thing ever. Rhys has grown into a lovely young man, we bought him a bracelet, and guess what he loves it. He said it was what he would have chosen for himself. So looks like we got that right.

Inspired by The Sewing Bee

Have you been inspired to Sew? I have. I have always sewn, I used to make all our clothes. Dresses and skirts for me and Nicola, when she was a little girl. But just recently it just been curtains and bags, the last time I actually made something to wear was the bridesmaids dresses, when my daughter got married, 11years ago. Hobbycraft had a sale of some of there fabrics, so bought some nice cotton. The rose fabric is Amy Butler and was only £6 a mtr. I also found a tutorial on line to make my own skirt pattern, and I amazed my self that it actually fit first time.
The tutorial here.

Lady Golfer

I was asked to make a card for a lady golfer, I would have liked to have used a lady golfer stamp, but alas after looking and looking and even after looking at the the Hobbycraft show at the NEC, I came to the conclusion that it doesn't exist, and anyway I didn't want to go out and buy something I might not use again. I already had this golf ball stamp, so came up with a design which had a lady golfer theme. I think my friend liked it.

Birthday girl

I was asked to make a card for a little girl's Birthday, I must admit it is my favourite kind of card, so I made two, my friend liked them both. I used fairy stamps by Lili of the Valley, so sweet.
I have a couple of male birthdays coming up soon, which are the kind that I hate to make, just need a helping hand from Mr Mojo.

Raw Edge Quilt

At last I made another quilt, I bought a layer cake, which is 42, 10inch squares of fabric, I have to confess that this has been sitting in my stash for nearly 2 yrs. this was the easiest and quickest quilt ever, and the more it is washed and dried the better it is.
You can find the Tutorial, the link to click on is at the bottom of the post. Or you can copy and paste here.  http://bloomandblossom.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/raw-edge-layer-cake-quilt-tutorial.html.

I think the fabric is called Whimsy by Fig tree.
This is the front, with the raw edges.

Cupcake

I'm such a bad blogger.
It was Grace's Birthday a couple of weeks ago and My Daughter Nicola made a super cake using a cupcake cake tin. This cake is huge and would easily feed 2 doz people.
Grace loved it, and I Think she's had some orders to make more. And it was delis. Think she must get her baking skills from her Mother, although don't bake much any more, still watching my weight, daren't take my eyes off the goal for a minute or the weight creeps back on.

It's a cupcake sort of a day

It a double Birthday celebration today. It is my granddaughter Grace's and my Daughter-in-laws Rhiannon's Birthday.
I made a cupcake for Grace and a sweet cupcake box to put it in. We are going over to see her later today, can't wait.
Sorry Rhiannon no cupcake for you, N.Wales is too far away, don't think it would travel very well, and with the terrible postal service in your village it would be mouldy by the time you get it.

Happy 21st Birthday.

My Grandson Rhys's girlfriend Cortney is 21 today. She is the most adorable and sweet Girl. I hope she stays in our lives forever.
My Grandson will be 21 in May. It's hard to believe, it seems like only yesterday that he was a sweet baby and he is now on the brink of Manhood.
Here's the card I made for her special day.
I used the new DSP and stamp set, Hearts a Flutter from the spring book.

A loving heart

It's been a while since I posted and I also thought it also been ages since I last took part in a challenge, so here's both.
I made this card using the new super bundle called Hearts A Flutter teamed with the matching dies. The DSP is called More Amore. All from Stampin Up. I'm loving this set and it doesn't need to be Valentines Day to express you Love.
Brian and I always exchange cards and prezzies,(just spied a Pandora gift bag :) even after 43 years, our love gets stronger, you need to be strong and have staying power to stay married this long, and needless to say lots of love and kindness goes a long way.
The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.

Trees of the season

A couple of cards I made using this stamp set by Hero Arts, which I found in a sale at The Glitter Pot. The weather here is cold and miserable the snow now is thawing and it wet and slushy, don't know about you but I hate the snow.

Brian and I hardly ever go to the cinema, as Brian usually falls asleep, but when Les Mis came out we had to go and see it. We had seen the musical at the theatre a few years ago and simply loved the music and such a wonderful story. Well we were blown ago, it was everything we expected and more, we have been singing the songs ever since we went last week, and guess what Brian stayed awake. I just love Hugh Jackman ever since I saw him at the theatre in Oklahoma.

Because I Care.

Here's a couple of cards I made using this fabulous Stamp Because I Care, from Stampin Up, which is a set that I got as a reward from my lovely Stampin Up demonstrator Michelle. I used some papers from my stash.

We have been helping our Daughter Nicola to decorate this weekend. She bought a new house last summer and has finally got to put her special mark on it, a new house is like a blank canvas, and sometimes all it takes is a bit of wallpaper and paint, Brian wallpapered one wall in her bedroom, it now looks like a boutique hotel room, very chic. He also papered Grace's room which is so pretty, and a very quirky paper in her downstairs loo, which is lots of vintage photos all over it, looks like photos of my mum and dad and me in the fifties. Very funny.
Hoping for a rest tomorrow, but tons of ironing to do, footy on in the afternoon, so maybe I can do some crafting then.

Crazy Christmas

I know this sounds a little bit crazy and You would think that I had had enough of making Christmas Card, but when I saw that The Glitter Pot had a sale on and I saw these papers by my Mind's Eye, All is Bright, I just had to have them and when they came yesterday I made a couple of cards. I just love the little Birdie in the hat.
Sorry about the shadows in the photos it is such a beautiful sunshiny day today, which probably means that it will freeze tonight.

Christmas

We gave Grace a Emma Bridgewater personalised mug, which she adored, we also bought her a watch, as she is learning to tell the time.

Brian bought me an ipad mini, which I got just after Christmas as everywhere was old out. And I love it. I bought him a new Techno marine watch. Brian has a thing for watches and he has lots.

I really must get back into crafting but it seems that Mr Mojo has taken an extended Christmas break.

Post Christmas Blues

In case anybody noticed my absent here in blog land, I,thought I had better let you know Yes I am
still alive. It has been a little bit quite in my craft room lately. Since I finished making my Christmas cards and put away all my Christmas stash my craft room is looking unusually tidy.

I sit and look at an empty desk and my mind is also empty of ideas, but now when I think about it sitting here typing this, there are a few Birthdays in Feb and also Valentines Day. So better get back in the swing soon.

I am still visiting blogs and looking for inspiration.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you have a good new year.
Hopefully I will have some cards to post soon.

Thank you to everyone who visited my blog in 2012 even if there wasn't an awful lot to see.

Ornament Keepsakes.

Well December is finally here and the Gift List is coming along nicely, Just need to think what to get the Men in my life. Especially my Son and Grandson, who are really hard to buy for. My Grandson would love the money, but I don't like to give Money, not too sure what he will spend it on.

Here's a couple more Christmas cards, using the Ornament Keepsake Stamps and dies from Stampin Up, I love this set and it will coming out to play for lots more projects for future Christmas's, I'm sure. Nearly all my cards are made now, maybe need to make a few tags.

Oh and at last I've made the Christmas Cake, just need to ice it. So even though We went away last month, I feel things are coming together. Hope this statement doesn't come back to bite me in the bum!:)

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
